| a lifetime of longing |We long to play an irreplacable role. We long to be radiant in ways that people will ultimately notice with awe.
We want to be unique, we want originality in relation to our names to exist, but the only issue is that we are not capable of resisting the pitfalls of humanity. We cannot resist the urge to fall into the temptations that sin has laid before our feet, the susceptible weaknesses that make us less original and more like the rest of the people in this world. This isn't what we really want, but it's an urge great enough to overtake the irreplaceable radiance that our heart also desires. As convicting as this is, recognizing this in my life is a cherishable moment, because it is a beginning of a new age, a new mission, another lesson in God's great plan for my life & for your life. A great book I am reading right now is Captivating, and I fell in love with it after reading just few words. "The whole vast world is incomplete without me. Creation has reached its zenith in me." Women are the final creation of God himself. We are the threshold, and we are needed in this world, playing a crucial role in this hurting society. I think that's what every person wants to hear- you are worthy, you are needed- but the question that we often forget to ask ourselves is are we living out the crucial role that Christ has placed in our lives? We want to be noticed as people playing an irreplaceable role, but in reality Christ has given us an irreplaceable role and it doesn't include seeking other's approval for the role that has been placed in our hands by Him. It's hard to grasp that we don't need approval from people, isn't it? The only resolution to this epidemic that has spread into every heart of this desperate earth is to play this role. Play your irreplaceable role with radiance, but play this role for the only one who we need approval from. When we look for approval from others, our awe is shifted from Him to sinful humanity, "Where you look for awe will shape the direction of your life (Awe, Tripp, 19)". The reality is that we are always searching for things to be in awe of in replacement of our Father. Christ tells us in Jeremiah 29:13, "You will find me when you seek me with all of your heart." Sometimes I ask myself why I am not hearing God clearly, but it is simple, when we are not seeking Him fully, we do not find Him. Jesus is always there, awaiting our call, pouring grace and forgiveness as we do not deserve, but to fully meet Him we must seek him. So, as we run into the lifelong pursuit for His glory, this is where we play the irreplaceable role of radiance for Jesus Christ. What role are you playing, who is it for, and where are you running? A question I ask myself- a reassessing question for a world that needs revival and people to be an irreplaceable radiance for Him. -gcg
